Library Programs Update (August 2021)

The Payson Library is excited to start up programs again! As we move forward, we will expect our program attendees to follow the guidelines recommended for students in Utah’s K-12 schools.

The UDOH strongly recommends the following layered prevention strategies in K-12 schools:

  • Encouraging everyone 12 years and older to get vaccinated for COVID-19
  • Wearing a mask when indoors
  • Isolating at home if you test positive for COVID-19
  • Quarantine and other protective measures after a school exposure
  • Testing for COVID-19
  • Staying home when you’re sick
  • Physical distancing and cohorting
  • Improving or increasing indoor ventilation
  • Hygiene practices
  • Cleaning and disinfection

COVID-19 Vaccination is not a requirement to attend library programs. However, it is strongly recommended that those who are not fully vaccinated wear face masks.

Face masks are not mandatory to attend library programs. Families should make individual decisions about when and where to wear face masks. However, please note that the CDC, the Utah Department of Health, and the Utah County Health Department all strongly recommend wearing face masks, especially indoors and for those who are unvaccinated.

Social distancing will not be required at library programs. However, please be respectful of personal boundaries of other attendees. If another family or person asks for more distance between you and them, please respect that.

Before attending a library program, please wash your hands or use hand sanitizer. Help children learn to sneeze into their elbow or a tissue rather than their hands.

High touch surfaces or items will be disinfected before and after programs.

You should not attend a library program if:

  • You test positive for COVID-19
  • You have been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 and you are not fully vaccinated
  • You are showing symptoms of COVID-19 (fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea) https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html
  • You are subject to quarantine

*As things progress/change, the policies and procedures may change. Effective August 2021.

Curbside Pickups

Curbside Pickups are currently available for any patron who would like to have their library items brought out to them.

  1. Place up to 6 available items on hold for curbside pickup on your online account. (If you have multiple cards in your family, each one can have up to 6 items put on hold for curbside pickup. If you do this, please call and let us know so that we can get all items out to you in one trip.)
  2. Schedule a pickup from your online account, just pick a date and available time slot. In the notes field, please let us know what car you will be coming to pickup your items in so we can look for you when you get here.
You can also call us to schedule a pickup date time. An email will be sent to the email address you have on file with us confirming your curbside pickup date and time.
  3. Arrive at your designated date and time. You can let us know you are here by logging into your online account on your phone and clicking “Alert Staff of your Arrival,” or you can call and let us know you are here. Be ready with your library card or ID so we can confirm who you are.

Please be patient and give us a few minutes to get things ready for you. We first have to checkout the items to you at a kiosk before we can bring them out. We are also currently open to the public and we may be busy helping other patrons when you arrive.

If you schedule a pickup within the next 15-30 minutes it will take us longer to get out to your car, since we need time for the computer to notify us, then to pull your items from the shelf and get them staged and ready for you. If you need to come right away, please call us so we can start working on it before you get here.
